Grandma Custer

Grandma Custer at our house

Grandma Custer at our house sitting on a chair in front of the fireplace. She seldom came to visit but would come for a meal so to get them to come down we invited them for a meal and they almost always showed up.

Sonny and Eva

Sonny and Eva at our 50th wedding anniversary
Pat's brother and his wife, Eva, were down for our 50th Wedding Anniversary celebration. A lot of people came. We were surprised.

Myself and Melissa and Becky below with long hair. I think she has worn it short ever since this photo was taken.

Comparing Beards over 39 years

My beard in 1976
I have tried beards several times and while I like the idea of not having to shave, nobody else seems to like me wearing a beard.

Old Baby Shoes

Patty's baby shoes and bonnet.
I guess we all had shoes like these. I don't know where mine went but we were always trading shoes back and forth so I am guessing mine ended up on the baby feet of a local baby in Gordon, Ohio where I was born over 81 years ago.

Sweet Water

Sweet water
The birds come to drink water. I try to keep the bird bath clean so they can get a fresh drink without too much contamination in it. I also feed the birds and some of their seed drops on the ground where it is quickly eaten by everything from rabbits and squirrels to birds of all kinds. The only birds I have never seen eat any seed are the hawks and American Robins.

Lost

Rain on the skylight. Pitter-patter. Not cold enough for snow or ice but nice to hear the rain. Read the story. I used to draw a lot.
